Advantages of school-based SaLT

Children are seen quickly, no waiting lists.
Advice can be shared with other professionals and support further referrals if needed.
All children referred will be seen no matter how mild or severe their needs may seem.
School has immediate access to a familiar therapist.
The school will have access to expert knowledge.

The therapist can work on a specialist, targeted and universal level to develop communication skills across the school.
The therapist will work collaboratively with other professionals, including liaison with NHS therapists.
The therapist can provide information for/at meetings for the children worked with.
All therapists are HCPC and RCSLT registered.
