Advantages of school-based SaLT

  • Children are seen quickly, no waiting lists.

  • Advice can be shared with other professionals and support further referrals if needed.

  • All children referred will be seen no matter how mild or severe their needs may seem.

  • School has immediate access to a familiar therapist.

  • The school will have access to expert knowledge.

  • The therapist can work on a specialist, targeted and universal level to develop communication skills across the school.

  • The therapist will work collaboratively with other professionals, including liaison with NHS therapists.

  • The therapist can provide information for/at meetings for the children worked with.

  • All therapists are HCPC and RCSLT registered.
