About Central Therapy Service

Who are we?

Central Therapy Service (CTS) provides tailored speech and language therapy assessments and sessions across the West Midlands (and nationally via telehealth) to children aged between 2 and 18 years. Our aim is to provide a fun, quality, evidence-based service to help reduce the vastly increasing communication needs within the county. NHS waiting lists continue to grow, our service will bridge this shortfall.

Our experienced Paediatric Speech & Language Therapists are fully qualified holding a minimum of an honours degree and are registered members of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and the Association of Speech & Language Therapists in Private Practice (ASLTIP). Additionally, all our therapists and our speech and language therapy assistants (SLTa) have enhanced DBS certificates.

At CTS we have gained a wide range of experiences, working in mainstream schools, specialist units, special educational settings, clinics, private schools, and homes. We also take part in clinical education for university students as well as research development, continued professional development and seminars.

How do we work?

We place huge importance on engaging our clients in activities by having a holistic outlook, including their interests, and tailoring each session to the individual.

There are a range of different Speech and Language Therapy methods/ approaches that we use including: PROMPT, SCERTS, Colourful Semantics, Makaton, Word Aware, More Than Words and Attention Autism.

Where do we work?

At CTS we often work with children in environments they are familiar with. Meaning we complete assessments and therapy sessions within schools or at the child’s home.

CTS is based in the West Midlands working regularly in areas such as Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Lichfield, Erdington, North Warwickshire, and South Staffordshire.

Additionally, we will take speech & language therapy referrals from all over the UK for virtual therapy, if deemed appropriate.
